According to the state of emergency in response to the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) declared by the Japanese national government for Tokyo and the three prefectures of the metropolitan area (Chiba, Kanagawa and Saitama), the activity restriction level of Graduate School of Engineering and Faculty of Engineering will be raised to Level 3 from Friday January 8, 2021 to Sunday February 7. However, please keep in mind that the situation may change.
Lectures, periodical examinations and research activities are handled as follows, so please follow the instructions from the members of the department education committee, your course lecturers or supervisors. In principle, students who do not conduct research activities will not be allowed to enter the campuses.
We will post up-to-date information on the TUAT website, so please check it frequently.

● Lectures, practice-/exercise-/experiment activities and laboratory experience assignment of Faculty of Engineering
 In principle, they will continue to be conducted online or through assignments on/after Tuesday, January 5.

● Lectures and small-group seminars of Graduate School of Engineering
 In principle, they will be changed to online.

● Periodical examinations
 In principle, the scheduled periodical examinations will be changed from face-to-face to online or assignment (reports) based. For details, please follow the instructions from the members of the department education committee or your course lecturers.

● Research activities
 In order to respect the self-motivated research activities of students to the maximum extent possible, we have partially modified the "Policies of Faculty/Graduate School of Engineering on Activity Restrictions for Preventing the Spread of COVID-19" to allow laboratory activities under certain conditions. To conduct laboratory activities, students are required to fill out the "Confirmation of Laboratory Activities" form in advance.
 If you use public transportation to commute to university, it is strongly recommended to attend university every other day or to commute to university during the staggered hours, etc. For other matters, please comply with the contents described in Level 3 of the Policy on Activity Restrictions.

● Extra-curricular activities
 All activities are prohibited regardless of whether the organizing group/activity has been approved or not.

※During the period set for the state of emergency in response to the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), January 8 - February 7, 2021, please follow the “state of emergency measures taken by Tokyo Metropolitan Government to stop the spread of the novel Coronavirus” based on the “Act on Special Measures for Pandemic Influenza and New Infectious Diseases Preparedness and Response” related to the novel coronavirus disease.
