Lecture: "Transition of Mobility Science: From Machine Control to Big Data Utilization"

Development of autonomous driving technology is underway to realize safe and secure transportation without traffic accidents. At present, fully autonomous driving is not yet a reality due to high hurdles. However, it is expected that automation of driving in limited scenes and driving assistance systems that support the driver will be realized soon, and technological development is being actively carried out and they are starting to be introduced to the market. To realize and advance such systems that assume driver intervention, it is important to have technologies that estimate the driver's state, understand the driver's behavior, and appropriately judge and predict the surrounding situation to actively support driving. Here, we will explain the history of mobility research at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology and Technology, as well as recent research results and trends.
